Dream Logic Tarot

The relationship

Seven cards for two people: what each brings, what joins and divides you, where it goes.

A spread for any bond — a partner, a friend, a parent, a colleague. Two columns describe the two people; the centre column describes the space between them. It works for a relationship that is beginning, one that is strained, and one that is simply being looked at honestly.

  1. You

You, as you are in this relationship: your posture toward the other person, what you show and what you hold back.

  2. Them

The other person as they are in the bond — read with charity; this is their stance, not their character.

  3. The bond

The nature of the connection itself: what drew you together and what keeps you here.

  4. What you need

What you need from this relationship now, whether or not you have said it.

  5. What they need

What the other person needs from it — often the card that changes how the rest is read.

  6. What divides

The friction, the silence, or the difference that stands between you at present.

  7. Where it goes

Where the relationship tends if both of you go on as you are. A forecast, not a verdict.

Reading the spread as a whole

Read the two outer columns first, top to bottom, as portraits: how each person stands, and what each needs. Then read the centre column as the relationship itself — what holds it, what strains it, and where it tends. A reversed card in the centre column usually points to something unsaid between you.
